How do I know which study program suits me best? Seven questions that may support your decision:

  • Do I aim at gaining a general overview of the GIS technologies and want to apply them to solve practical problems? Or do I need to manage projects in Geoinformatics and coordinate teams? For the first consider UNIGIS professional, for the latter UNIGIS MSc is better suited.

  • Might the costs be an issue? May I qualify for financial support through my employer or national agencies, or through various scholarships?

  • What are the study workload and study duration? For how long can I schedule a constant workload for my studies? If applicable, could my partner/my family support me during the studies?

  • How about my personal motivation to study? For how long can I maintain my motivation and which factors does it depend on?

  • How important is an academic qualification for me and/or my career?

  • Am I interested in the active and scientific investigation in the field of Geoinformatics or am I rather a practicioner, who is interested in developing applications?

  • What is my educational background? Do I fulfil the program entry requirements? What is my English language proficiency level?
