In Geoinformatics, we collect, analyse and use spatial data by developing and optimising digital applications in order to make better decisions for the future with their results. This multidisciplinary field of geography, information science and engineering plays a crucial role in addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing our planet today, from environmental conservation and urban planning to disaster management and sustainable development.

The vision of the Green-Egger GIS scholarship is to nurture future leaders in Geoinformatics, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to harness the power of geospatial technologies for the betterment of society and nature.

Green-Egger wants to foster innovation that can lead to more accurate environmental monitoring, efficient resource management, and resilient infrastructure.

The Green-Egger GIS scholarship will be awarded to one MSc or UNIGIS professional applicant (either for the start on October, 1 2024 or March, 1 2025) who wish to acquire skills in Geographic Information Sciences and Systems in order to contribute to a better, greener and more sustainable future. Tasks in nature conservation, in the preservation and improvement of ecosystems or the design of future-oriented mobility solutions are suitable subject areas.

Requirements: the respective admission requirements of the fully online UNIGIS MSc or UNIGIS professional program in English language and additionally good academic success (to be proven in the first three UNIGIS core modules) and social need.
